whoooooooo carrrresssss???!!!!???!???!!!

As I read the first couple of essays on the site I thought they were boring. Reading about how blogging has inspired people to do all sorts of different things. When I read the essay about the women how was oh so interested in knitting, I thought to my self, why? As I read most of these to be completely honest I thought there were dumb. I feel as though I can make much better use of my time then spending it writing about my personal life on the Internet for millions of people to read, and really, who is going to want to read my blog? Who the hell cares what I, and 18-year-old college student thinks!? Yeah, I mean I guess FaceBook and Myspace are considered blogs. But on those sites it isn’t like I’m pouring my heart out to the public. Maybe ill change my mood or status but that’s about the extent of it. I think that blogging has yes changed the way the people use the Internet, sites such as Youtube, or Facebook wouldn’t have been created if it weren’t for blogging. Perhaps this what I am writing right now could be considered a blog. Although my opinion about blogs is obviously that I don’t like them, one of these articles that I read about intrigued me.
The essay by Caralton Clark."I Don't Really Want to Go into Personal Things in This Blog" It talked about how he was nervous before teaching a new semester and how he always new that his students would be nervous, but he didn’t think that his students knew that he got nervous as well. The reason why I thought this article was interesting was because it actually showed the interaction of the blogging. There is his post within the essay and then the responses from a few students. The other reason why I thought this one was my favorite was because it was something that I can easily relate to. When you walk into a classroom for the first time, you can hear a pin drop. For me I find this very awkward because of my out going personality. I always seem to be the one that will break the ice. I seem to always be the first to talk in the class. The teacher will respond usually in a positive way to me. It is easy for me to relate to this topic because it is one I have experienced before. Considering I don’t have a blog at all it is a little bit harder for me to relate to the other articles written. Who knows? Perhaps the academic blog we will do in this class will change my opinion about blogs.

  1. I agree with you that when first reading the essays i was really bored as well. They weren't very interesting. I did like the one about the teacher though too. I thinki it was weird that the teacher was nervous to teach and to start the blog.
    Good analysis :]

  2. Yeah I know what you mean, after the 5th or 6th blog I realized how repetitive it was and I got bored. I chose the same essay as you because I related to it also.

  3. Hi Shane :)
I also thought almost all the essays were quite boring, but I was able to find two that were okay. Anyway, I thought it was interesting how you started writing about who would be interested in reading your blog, because it sounded so similar to one of the readings; I think it was the "I blog, therefore i am." I can also relate to the Clark reading as well.
